Berlin : Germany’s GdP Police Union and the Federation of Public Service Employees (dbb) said they are ready to start warning strikes if the employer’s side refuses to make a substantially increased wage offer.
“We are preparing for warning strikes. There are precise plans,” GdP chairman, Konrad Freiberg told Saturday’s issue of the Hanover-based Neuen Presse, calling the latest offer a “gall”.
During the second round of labor talks, employers offered a five-percent hike, spread over three phases within two years.
Labor representatives are calling for an eight-percent rise.
The next round of wage negotiations are set for February 11 and 12.
A spokeswoman for the dbb said that if a new salary offer has not been made by the date of the next labor talks, warning strikes will be announced.
