Kuwait : Recent formation of the higher consultancy board of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation does not contradict with the leading structures of other departments of the oil sector, the KPC chief executive officer said.
The new board will be tasked with presenting views, will have no power to issue resolutions, will deal with the broadlines of the corporation’s policies with no involvement in detailed matters and work, said Saad Al-Shuwaib, in remarks to journalists late on Tuesday.
The council groups Kuwaiti and foreign figures with substantial experience in exploration, drilling, petrochemicals, and some manage political or economic portfolios, he said asserting that they have been selected on high standards.
The board will hold three regular meetings per year, will examine broadlines of the corporation’s strategies, he said, adding that they have pledged to refrain from divulging sensitive information related to the corporation’s operations and activities.
