Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh Government, which has been constantly working for in the direction of increasing power generation in the state, has started working on the strategy of generating 5810 megawatt more power. A target of 10 months has been fixed for giving final touches to the strategy.
An official spokesman claimed that the state government is fully geared up to make all out efforts on its level not to let consumers face any power crunch. For this purpose, constant increase in power generation has been included in the state government’s priorities. A target has been set to complete five thermal power plants and other methods for generating additional 5810 megawatt power. Process of completing all these works within 10 months has begun.
According to the strategy, the fifth extension unit of Sanjay Gandhi thermal power plant is being enabled to generate power to its full capacity. It would generate 500 megawatt power. Similarly, 210 megawatt additional power would be generated by tapping total capacity of fifth extension unit of Amarkantak thermal power plant.
Under the strategy, 1100 to 1200 megawatt power is to be generated by two units of Malwa thermal power plant. After floating international tenders for the same, now the process of issuing work order is underway. Besides, the process of generating 500 megawatt power from two extension units of Sarni thermal power plant is also on and work orders for the same are to be released soon.
Similarly, tenders are being given final touches for generating 2000 megawatt power under tariff-based case-1. Work orders for the same are also expected to be released soon.
In the sane way tenders under case-II for 1500 megawatt Shahpura thermal power plant are being accepted. Work orders for the same would be released soon after completing the process of tenders. Besides, process to get 100 megawatt power for long-term power supply from Damodar Valley Corporation is also under progress.
