Rabat : The 29th Session of the Executive Council of the Rabat-based Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) will begin at the Organization’s permanent headquarters on Wednesday, July 2. The four-day session will be preceded by the third meeting of the secretaries general of the National Commissions for Education, Science and Culture and the officials in charge of the competent parties in the member states, according to an ISESCO statement. During the session, the Executive Council will discuss the draft broad lines of the Three-Year Action Plan and Budget (2010-2012) and the draft Medium- Term Plan for the Years 2010-2018 which will be presented by the General Directorate to the Council.
The Executive Council will also examine the report of the Director General on ISESCO’s activities for the year 2007; the financial report of the Director General and closing accounts for the year 2007, reports of the Audit Company and the Financial Control Committee for the Year 2007; and the report of the Director General on Member States’ contributions to the Organization’s Budget and on redressing the financial situation of the Organization for the Year 2007.
In addition, the Council will discuss a document concerning the Program on ISESCO’s ambassadors for dialogue among cultures and civilizations as well as the draft amendment to the Personnel Regulations. The Executive Council, which is made up of one representative for each member state, is currently chaired by Dr. Aboubakar Doukoure, adviser to the President of Burkina Faso.
