Bhopal : Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has launched an education scheme that is expected to benefit 181,000 children who are presently not going to school.
Chouhan launched ‘Praveshotsava’ (admission festival) under “School Chalein Hum” drive in Sehore district’s village Jait on the first day of the new academic session that began Tuesday.
He said that since development was not possible without education, attention is being paid to it in the state, an official release said Wednesday.
A total of 181,000 children are not going to school in the state, according to a recent survey conducted under Sarv Shiksha Abhiyan (Education for All campaign) by the School Education Department. These include 92,000 girls and 89,000 boys in the age group of 5-14 years.
“Lack of funds would not be an obstacle in the education of children belonging to any caste or creed and every possible assistance would be provided to the children of all sections for education without any distinction,” he said.
