Blast kills one, injures seven in Pakistan

Islamabad : One person was killed and seven others injured in an explosion in southwestern Pakistan’s Balochistan province Friday, Dawn News TV channel reported.

Witnesses said a bomb was attached to a motorcycle and parked outside a bank on Jinnah Road at the Mannan Chowk market in Quetta, the capital city of the province.

The TV channel cited the police saying that one person was killed and seven injured in the blast.

The injured have been shifted to a nearby hospital.

Some TV channels, however, reported that a minor girl was killed in the blast, while 10 people, including five policemen suffered injuries.

The police blocked the area and the bomb disposal squad was called to examine the explosives.

No group has yet claimed responsibility for the blast.
