The Tata Sumo in which the pilgrims were travelling overturned near Budran village, about 70 km from here, since the driver was speeding.

“The five injured pilgrims were rushed to a hospital. The condition of one of them is serious,” a police officer said.

Despite an indefinite curfew in Jammu and violence in several parts of the state over allotment of forest land to the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB), hundreds of pilgrims have been reaching the south Kashmir Pahalgam and north Kashmir Baltal base camps every day.
