League”s high coordination cmte. holds 39th meeting

Cairo : The Arab League’s High Committee to coordinate Arab joint efforts held its 39th meeting here Thursday, discussing preparations for the Arab Economic and Social Summit to be held in Kuwait next January.

Assistant Secretary General for Economic Affairs at the League Dr. Mohammad Ibrahim Al-Tuwaijri in a press release said that today’s meetings discussed efforts to help reconstructions in Iraq, Palestine, Sudan, Somalia, and the Comoros.

The committee also discussed holding an annual conference for Arab civil society unions and also debated integrating financial, administrative and hierarchal systems for Arab organizations, he added.

Dr. Al-Tuwaijri further said that the Arab Tourism Organization (ATO) and the Federation for Arab Businessmen (FAB) submitted requests to join the Committee.

The Committee’s summit on the level of heads of Arab organizations is due next Sunday.
