The key question which remains, is strengthening Polish security.
Poland expects “real security guarantees,” added Tusk, alluding to a 40-minute phone conversation with US Vice President Dick Cheney.
He pointed out that while the controversial anti-missile shield provided extra protection for the US, it contained also added risks for Poland.
Tusk stressed his country’s readiness for more talks on the issue.
Warsaw is reportedly dissatisfied with Washington’s increased military aid offer.
Poland has called for the stationing of US Patriot anti-missile systems.
America seeks to deploy 10 long-range missile interceptors in Poland and a radar track system in the Czech Republic.
