Greater Noida : The Uttar Pradesh police Sunday arrested a man impersonating as a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) official and extorting money from a businessman here.
Mahipal, 30, was found in possession of a fake identity card . He roamed about in a Tata Safari with a green beacon on top to give himself semblance of a real sleuth, the police said.
The police said the arrest was made after businessman Atul Pundir complained to them that Vishal Mohan, claiming to be a CBI superintendent of police, was demanding Rs.50,000 for not arresting him for certain ‘irregularities’.
