Bhopal : The five-day monsoon session of the Madhya Pradesh Assembly, the last of the state’s 12th Vidhan Sabha, slated to start Monday is likely to be stormy with the main opposition Congress asserting it will put the government in the dock over several issues.
Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly Jamuna Devi told mediapersons Sunday that her party would ask the government to explain the reasons behind the violence that broke out in Indore claiming six lives.
Violence also took place at several other places in the state during a Vishwa Hindu Parishad-Bharatiya Janata Party-sponsored shutdown against the revocation of a grant of land to the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board by the Jammu and Kashmir government.
“The government has to explain the circumstances leading to self-immolation by a trader in Satna district after he was targeted by Bharat Bandh supporters Thursday,” she said.
“We will also raise other issues including deterioration of law and order situation in the state, lack of power supply and dismal water and roads scenario,” she added.
The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party will also be asked to reply on the medicine scam, Income-Tax raids on the residences of families of ministers and officials, the Annapurna Yojana scam, and fertiliser and seed shortage, she said.
