Shimla : The Himachal Pradesh cabinet Monday issued a notice to Brakel Corp NV of the Netherlands about the two power projects the Dutch company is setting up in the state, official sources told IANS.
The Rs.40 billion ($1 billion) Thopan-Powari and Jangi-Thopan hydro-power projects in Kinnaur district were allotted to Brakel in 2006 by the previous government.
But the projects have come under the scanner of the present regime, as a Canadian company that Brakel earlier stated was its partner has now written to the government that it has no agreement with the Dutch firm.
The cabinet listed the issue for discussion June 27 but deferred it.
