India slams attack on its mission, vows continued assistance to Afghanistan

New Delhi : India Monday strongly criticized the terror attack on its embassy in Kabul and stated that such strikes would not deter New Delhi from fulfilling its commitments in Afghanistan.

“We convey with deep regret that there was a suicide car bomb attack on the Indian Embassy in Kabul a little while ago,” an Indian External Affairs Ministry statement said here, following the attack.

“The Government of India strongly condemns this cowardly terrorists attack on its diplomatic mission in Afghanistan. Such acts of terror will not deter us from fulfilling our commitments to the Government and people of Afghanistan, ” the Ministry stressed.

“We fear that there may be casualties among our personnel … We are in touch with the Ambassador who is supervising arrangements for medical assistance,” the statement added.
