New Delhi : An Indian delegation headed by a senior diplomat is leaving for Kabul, External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee announced Monday while condemning the terror attack on the Indian embassy in which four Indians are among at least 44 killed.
The delegation, comprising two senior officials of the ministry for external affairs (MEA) and two officials from the home ministry, is headed by Nalin Surie, secretary (west) in the MEA.
The dead in the attack include Defence Attache Brigadier R.D. Mehta and Press Counsellor V. Venkat Rao. The others are from the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), which protects the Indian mission. An Afghan employee of the embassy has also been killed.
A defence ministry official said that an Indian Air Force IL-76 aircraft would soon leave for Kabul to bring back the bodies of the Indians.
