Abu Dhabi : United Arab Emirates’ President Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan stressed on Tuesday the important role of Arab parliaments in boosting Arab solidarity.
Receiving Speaker of the Syrian People’s Assembly Dr. Mahmoud al-Abrash in Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Khalifa pointed out to the importance of communication among Arab parliaments to support the official and political ties among Arab countries, as well as to crystallize the unifying Arab stances in the international circles.
For his part, Dr. al-Abrash conveyed President Bashar al-Assad’s greetings to Sheikh Khalifa and his wishes to the brotherly Emirates’ people for more progress and prosperity.
Sheikh Khalifa also asked Dr. al-Abrash to convey his own greetings to President al-Assad and best wishes for more progress to the Syrian people.
Dr. al-Abrash said that the latest visit of President al-Assad to the United Arab Emirates reflected the Syrian government’s commitment for continuous communication with the UAE and represented the deep brotherly relations between the two countries and peoples.
He appreciated Sheikh Khalifa’s stances in strengthening the bases of Arab solidarity, pointing out to the UAE support to Syria in line with the standing spirit of fraternity and solidarity between the two countries.
During the meeting, the longest-serving Syrian parliamentarian Dhiab al-Mashi recalled the stances and remarkable deeds of late UAE President Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan towards the Arab Nation.
