Bhubaneswar : At least four pilgrims died on the spot and two were wounded as the vehicle in which they were travelling hit a truck in Orissa’s Deogarh district early Saturday, police said.
The Jeep carrying about six persons was going from the steel city of Rourkela to the temple town of Puri and met with the accident near Barkot village, some 300 kms from here.
”The passengers were going to witness the Bahuda Yatra – the return journey of lord Jagannath,” district superintendent of police Sanjib Arora told IANS.
The people died are between 30 to 35 years of age. The injured pilgrims are undergoing treatment in the local hospital, he said.
