“Supervision is an important part of our preparations. We should continue to supervise the use of the fund and keep the budget under check,” said He at a meeting during which the Supervision Committee of the 29th Olympic Games reported its work.

He said a fresh round of supervision on the quality of all the Olympic projects should be implemented.

He, also a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, visited the National Stadium, or the Bird’s Nest, the National Aquatics Centre, or Water Cube, and the Olympic athletes’ village Monday.

“The Water Cube was built with money donated by overseas Chinese and friends from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. We must build it well and manage it well, setting their hearts at rest,” He said.
