Bangkok : Thailand’s Prime Minister Samak Sundaravej has yet to finalize his decision on the number of ministerial seats to be revamped although the new Cabinet line-up will not depend on partisan quotas, Finance Minister Surapong Suebwonglee said on Tuesday.
Surapong was quoted by local news network The Nation as saying that no one should try to speculate on the upcoming reshuffle because this might lead to confusion.
He said the People Power Party, one of the six ruling parties, will factor in opinions of various sectors on whether to effect changes in the economic team.
On Sunday, Samak said that he planned to conduct a major cabinet reshuffle after three minister, including Prime Minister’s Office Minister Jakrapob Penkair, Public Health Minister Chaiya Sasomsup, Foreign Minister Noppadon Pattama, have been forced to step down facing different charges or convictions.
