Paris : The evacuation earlier in the day at Charles de Gaulle International Airport was over a suspicious bag left unattended, airport security sources told KUNA.
The sources said this was a precautionary measure and the bag turned out to belong to a passenger who chose to abandon her bag to avoid paying for excessive luggage.
The precautionary measure in such scenario is to examine the bag or item through special equipment to determine if destroying it is advisable, they noted.
As to whether there were delays in flights due to the evacuation, a source said there was only short pause in departures from one building while arrivals continued on schedule elsewhere.
Meanwhile, a Kuwait Airways Corporation official told KUNA a Kuwaiti flight scheduled to depart from the concerned building was not affected by the evacuation, as boarding had been completed before the incident took place.
