Aligarh (Uttar Pradesh): Delivering keynote address in the representative session of All India Muslim Majlis-e-Mushawarat’s (AIMMM) western U.P. unit yesterday, AIMMM president Dr. Zafarul Islam Khan exhorted Muslims to unite under the banner of Mushawarat.
He urged people to get united and discuss about promotion of Muslim Ummah, forgetting personal interests in favour of the wider interests of the Millat. He said besides the interests of the community, we should also take the country’s interests in consideration and, therefore, we should not compartmentalize our interests into religious blocks, instead talk about what is righteous and judicious as only this is better for both Muslims and the country.
Citing the example of nuclear deal, he strongly condemned any attempt to associate this issue with Muslims only and protested against government’s attitude saying that it wants to drag the country on the path of US captivity. He demanded the government to revise its decision on this issue. Dr Zafarul Islam also expressed his deep concern over arrest of innocent Muslims on the pretext of terrorism.
Appreciating Mushawarat’s initiative to unite Muslim, Maulana Tauqeer Raza Khan of Bareli scrutinized political parties and advised Muslims to beware of their frauds and machinations. He stressed on using the power of vote properly and wisely. He also said that one should avoid giving religious tinge to issue like that of nuclear deal. Maulana Tauqeer said we cannot do away with sectarian differences but we can surely unite for Milli causes. And there are a number of issues on which we can unite as a Muslim while keeping our sectarian differences intact because these problems are not specific to any particular sect but are common to all Muslims. He advised Muslims to strictly adhere to the Quran and the Sunnah, saying that in this way, all our problems will get resolved automatically because the ways of our unity can be paved only with the help of Quran and the traditions of the Prophet Muhammad.
