Drugs worth Rs.3 mn seized at Chennai airport

Chennai : A court Thursday remanded Parveen Ismail, who was going to Malaysia, in 14 days’ judicial custody following the seizure of Rs.3 million worth of drugs from her baggage at the airport here, officials said.

Ketamine powder was found hidden in milk tins in the baggage of Parveen Ismail, 34. She was bound for Kuala Lumpur, customs sources said.

During the last four months, drugs worth over Rs.170 million have been seized from the Chennai airport, all bound for Malaysia.
