Ranchi : Jharkhand’s main opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Saturday demanded dismissal of two ministers of the Madhu Koda government for alleged corruption.
Launching an agitation, BJP workers and legislators formed a seven-km chain, from the governor’s house to the assembly, to protest alleged corruption, rising crime graph and Maoist violence.
The protest was led at one end of the chain by state BJP president P.N. Singh, with former chief minister Arjun Munda at the other end.
A BJP delegation later met Governor Syed Sibte Razi and submitted a memorandum demanding dismissal of Rural Development Minister Enos Ekka and Urban Development Minister Harinarayan Rai following media reports that the two had allegedly amassed wealth through corruption.
Munda told reporters: “What is happening in the state? Corruption is at its peak, the crime graph is rising and people do not feel secure.
“There is no governance in the state. The governor should intervene in the functioning of the state government,” he said.
