Democrat John Conyers, head of the Committee, stated Friday that in the last seven years many accusations of Republican officials” misbehavior have been filed.

Conyers said the politicization of the Justice Department, manipulation of intelligence data, arbitrary arrests of both Americans and foreigners, legality of the domestic espionage programs and misuse of powers to launch attacks on third countries are some of the subjects of discussion.

The legislator refrained from mentioning names of those called to the hearing but rejected voting a resolution to impeach Bush.
