Charleston (West Virginia) : The India under-16 football team kept a clean slate and wrapped up their exposure and training tour here with a 2-2 draw in their last outing against Reading Rage.
India took the lead in the 14th minute with a Prem Kumar goal here Thursday.
Malasawmfela’s off-target header found an unmarked Kumar, who shot past Rage goalkeeper Tim White. Rage equalised seven minute later when Kevin Mathews flicked past the outstretched arms of Indian goalkeeper Gurpreet Singh Sandhu.
India broke the deadlock after Tirthankar Sarkar smashed home a volley just inside the penalty area in the 50th minute. Tyler Regan brought parity in the injury time.
The tour was a part of the team’s preparation for the finals of the Asian Championship to be held in Uzbekistan in October.
