Indian troops fire at Pakistani checkpost — spokesman

Islamabad : Indian troops fired at a Pakistani check post at he controversial Line of Control (LoC), the border dividing disputed Kashmir territory between the two rivals, in yet another violation of the LoC ceasefire, said a military spokesman.

The incident took place in Hujera Sector of Pakistan-side Kashmir on Saturday, but no loss of life was reported, said military spokesman Athar Abbas in a statement.

He said that Pakistan army responded to the incident with full force.

Pakistan has lodged strong protest against the unprovoked Indian firing and called a flag meeting over the incident, the military spokesman added.

This was second such incident of ceasefire violation in a month which Pakistan and India agreed to hold in November 2003 along the LoC before they launched peace talks in January 2004.
