Buenos Aires : Argentine football player Juan Ramon Riquelme hopes that star player Lionel Messi gets to play in Olympics in Beijing next month.
A day before International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) makes its decision over the refusal of the Barcelona club to release Messi for the Olympics, Riquelme, an offensive midfield player from Boca Juniors club, told TyC Sports: “We hope that Messi is with us.
“Most of the players from the team know each other from the Major (Selection). We have a very good relationship and since most of us are of same age group, we are able to help and to accompany each other.”
Argentina will play Tuesday in Tokyo with Japan, the last friendly before the Olympic Games to defend its win in Athens 2004.
