Pakistani PM Gilani leaves for home after 4-day visit to Washington

Washington : Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani left for home on Wednesday afternoon after a four-day official visit here during which he had talks with President George W. Bush and other administration officials on boosting cooperation between Pakistan and the United States in all fields, especially in combating terrorism.

He was seen off at the Andrew Air Force base outside Washington by US Assistant Secretary of State Richard Boucher, Ambassador Hussain Haqqani, former PPP Senator Khawaja Akbar, senior State Department protocol officials and officials of the Pakistan embassy here.

The prime minister also met with key members of the US Congress, spoke to intellectuals, scholars, journalists and academics at a think-tank and addressed members of the Pakistani community.
