New Delhi : India’s sporting fraternity received a major boost Friday as Qatar-based Panaceltica signed golfers Jeev Milkha Singh and S.S.P.Chowrasia, and cricketer Robin Uthappa in a single swoop.
The three sign-ups are the first major initiative in the sports sponsorship for Panceltica Holdings Ltd, a leader in fast-track construction in the Middle East, which is looking to extend its business to the expanding Indian market.
Jeev and Chowrasia are two of India’s leading golfers and regulars on the European and Asian Tour golf, while Uthappa was a member of India’s Twenty20 World Cup winning team and one of the star players in the recently concluded Indian Premier League (IPL).
Panceltica, which recently listed on the stock market in London, build fast-track housing and large-scale building projects in the Gulf with its proprietary technology that halves construction time when compared to local traditional methods.
Commenting on the tie-ups, Panceltica’s chief executive Paul Fraser said the partnerships will be a success.
“Cricket has always been a huge part of India’s sporting culture and has been further enhanced with the introduction of the IPL. Golf has also recently increasingly taken off in the country, with the emerging talent including Jeev and Chowrasia, both enjoying victory on the European Tour. Both sports have always been a personal passion of mine making this union particularly exciting for myself and the company,” he said in a statement.
David Brookes, sales and marketing Director of ISM, which is Jeev and Chowrasia’s management company, added: “We’re pleased to be associated with such a forward thinking and dynamic company. I’m sure Panceltica’s union with such reputable sports stars will be a mutually beneficial one.”
Each of the sportsmen will promote the Panceltica’s logo on their kit for future events.
