Kuwait, Benin sign bilateral cooperative deals

Kuwait : Kuwait and Benin have signed several memorandums of understanding and agreements witnessed by the Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and President of Benin Boni Yayi at the Bayan Palace here.

They included a deal on the setting up of a bilateral cooperation committee between both Kuwaiti and Beninese governments. It was inked at the ceremony Sunday by Kuwaiti Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Dr Mohammad Al-Sabah and Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Integration, Francophonie and Beninese Diaspora Moussa Okanla.

A memorandum of understanding on bilateral consultations was also signed by both ministers.

Another deal on bilateral economic and technical cooperation was inked by Kuwaiti Minister of Finance Mustafa Al-Shimali and the Beninese Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The Kuwaiti Minister of Finance and Beninese Minister of State in charge of the Economy, Economic Forecasting, Development and Evaluations of Public Action Pascal Irene Koupaki signed an agreement on mutual protection of investments.

Also hammered out was a trade agreement between both Kuwaiti and Beninese governments. It was inked by Kuwaiti Minister of Commerce and Industry Ahmed Yaqoub and the Beninese Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Kuwaiti Minister of Education and Higher Education Nouriya Al-Subeeh and the Beninese Minister of Foreign Affairs signed a deal on bilateral cooperation in the technical and vocational training fields.

The signing ceremony was also attended by Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah, First Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Sabah and Minister of Emiri Diwan Affairs Sheikh Nasser Al-Sabah and several other state officials.
