Beirut : French President Nicolas Sarkozy expressed his support to new Lebanese Head of State Michel Suleiman after his arrival to this capital Saturday coming from Greece.
In brief statements in the airport, Sarkozy said the election of Suleiman was a sample of hope for the Lebanese people.
The French delegation is also formed by Prime Minister Francois Fillon, Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner and the leaders of the main political parties.
Sarkozy is the first European Head of State in meeting Suleiman, former head of the Lebanese Army since he was elected President on May 25, after two months increasing the long and tense crisis that the country for more than a year.
After intense confrontations and contradictions the Lebanese political litigants were able to reach an agreement with the mediation of Qatar and the Arab League on May 21.
