Mumbai : The Indian Premier League (IPL) Tuesday clarified that the cap on players will remain next season too.
IPL Chairman and Commissioner Lalit Modi in a statement reiterated that players contracted centrally with the franchises will be bound by the agreements for three years.
“The three year contractual clause was made public to both the franchises and players prior to the auction. All the parties will abide by the terms and conditions laid down by the governing council,” Modi said.
“It is only up to the franchise to trade a player or players as and when the trading window opens next year.”
IPL will issue a fresh set of guidelines on the player transfer protocols for the next season before the trading window opens early next year.
