Cuban Fine Arts Exhibition in Russia

Moscow : Cuban ambassador to Russia Jorge Marti described a fine arts exhibition of the island inaugurated in Moscow on Tuesday as a celebration of the Cuban culture.

When inaugurating the exhibition entitled “Cuba 20th Century” at the centric gallery Chistie Prudie, Marti emphasized the large number of internationally renowned painters and the diversity of included styles.

This is the first exhibition of this kind that takes place in Russia, with a retrospective vision, 49 pictures created between 1950 and 2000 by 24 great artists.

Rene Portocarrero, Victor Manuel, Mariano Rodriguez, Raul Martinez, Servando Cabrera Moreno, Ever Fonseca, as well as the youngest Nelson Dominguez, Eduardo Roca (Choco) and Omar Godinez portray a work that has the admiration of the Russian audience, he added.

Cuban ambassador highlighted before the large representation of diplomat officials, Russian intellectuals and hundreds of guests that the exhibition pays tribute to Servando Cabrera in his 85th birth anniversary.

On the other hand, Deputy Chairman of Culture Committee of RF State Duma Mrs. Elena Drapeko described the exhibition as an expression of popular diplomacy, oriented to strengthen the historical ties of friendship between both nations.
