Dutch parliamentary delegation pays visit to OIC headquarters

Jeddah : A delegation from the Dutch Parliament visited the headquarters of Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) on Monday. The delegation, headed by the Member of the Christian Democratic Party Henk Jan Ormel, was accompanied by the Dutch Ambassador to Saudi Arabia and other parliamentarians from the ruling as well as the opposition parties, according to an OIC statement. The OIC delegation headed by Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs Ambassador Ezzat Kamil Mufti highlighted the activities of the OIC in different fields and stressed the importance of dialogue between cultures and religions.

The Dutch delegation indicated that the OIC has been relentless in its efforts to reach out to the international community to portray the true image of the Islamic faith and promote dialogue and understanding among cultures and civilizations. On their part, Dutch delegation stressed the need for continuing the dialogue with a view of reaching understanding on various issues of mutual concern. The two delegations exchanged views on a number of political, social and cultural issues.
