Aditi Tyagi, 21, an executive with a call centre at Noida, another Delhi suburb, tried to hoodwink her parents by abandoning her car June 9 in Hindon river, the police said.

After surveillance of her mobile number, she was found living with a man in Gurgaon, said Superintendent of Police (City) Vijay Bhushan.

He said that she was living with Maddasar Irfan, who used to work with a software company at Noida. She had told the police she had married Irfan at a Delhi court on May 17.

Tyagi did not return to her Shastri Nagar home in Ghaziabad June 9 and her worried parents began looking for her.

“Normally she used to leave office at 7 p.m. and before leaving, she used to inform her mother by giving a missed call,” said her father A.P. Tyagi, a scientist working with a public sector undertaking.

“But on that night, she neither informed her mother nor reached home. She had left her office an hour earlier than usual. Then we lodged a complaint with the police.

“On the same night, we were informed by the police that her car had been recovered from the Hindon River along with a mobile phone, a stole, a pair of socks, her salary cheque and her identity card,” he said.
