Melbourne : Andrew Symonds was let off with a warning after he missed the team bus and had to take a taxi to be in time for practice session on the eve of the third and last cricket Test against the West Indies at Bridgetown, Barbados, Wednesday.
Team management gave Symonds a dressing down after he slept in and missed the 10am bus from the team hotel by 10 minutes and had to take a taxi to the ground, according to a report in Herald Sun.
Symonds, who have got a chequered past and was once banned for two matches in 2005 for his late night drinking binge, said he had slept in.
Team officials later spoke to the 33-year-old at Kensington Oval, reminding him about his responsibilities and the standards of the Australian team.
No further action is likely to be taken, although one report said he had been fined about $3000.
The incident comes less than a two weeks after now-retired spinner Stuart MacGill claimed he slept through his alarm clock before arriving late to the second day of the second Test in Antigua.
