Solana: We are in the” win-win” situation

Tehran : European Union Foreign Policy Chief Javier Solana in his press conference here said we are in win-win situation and the proposed packages can begins a real dialogue.

Speaking to the domestic and foreign reporters in the German ambassador residence in Tehran on Saturday afternoon, Solana, who is accompanied high ranking diplomats from foreign ministries of Germany, France, Britain, China and Russia, said, “I have come to Tehran to hand over a new and comprehensive package to Iran as well as a signed letter by the foreign ministers of the 5+1 group countries which can begin a real dialogue.”
He said, “We consider Iran as a big country with old civilization and important role in the international community and this is an important reason for us to be here.”
Concerning proposed package which he submitted to the Foreign Minister Mottaki this morning, representative of 5+1 group said, “We hope the package can be a beginning point for negotiation and Iran can present a new program on its nuclear energy upon this.”
He continued the package is full of proposals and is an opportunity for both sides to start negotiation.

During his meeting with Secretary of Supreme National Security Council Saeed Jalili before his press conference, Solana said, “In the package we declared that we are ready to recognize Iran’s right to use nuclear energy and we are ready to plan new generations of reactors and new nuclear programs with Iran.”
EU foreign policy chief added, “We can work with Iran to give guarantees on delivering atomic fuel or finding a way in this concern, we can cooperate with Iran in the field of nuclear waste, we are ready to help Iran in developing and researching issues and if we can solve nuclear issue, the road for cooperation in other fields will be open, in the field of politics we are ready to cooperate in establishment of regional security, in the field of economics we are ready to cooperate in free trade field.

Solana continued, “We are interested to cooperate with Iran in the field of infrastructures like communication and energy, we are interested to cooperate in the four important issues such as agriculture, education, natural disaster management and passenger planes.”

The EU senior official underlined, “We are very serious in our efforts to find a decisive solution, but in this concern confidence building is so important that the whole world reach to an adequate confidence about peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear program.” Solana stressed, “I believe we are in win-win situation, Iran is interested in advancement to solve its economic problems.” Iran will be supported by the international community and we will be confident that Iran’s nuclear program has a peaceful nature.”
