Gaza : Palestinian sources on Monday said the goods which Israel allowed into Gaza, as part of the cease-fire deal, did not demonstrate a change from the previous status.
The Egyptian-brokered ceasefire deal, which took hold on Thursday, calls for Israel to increase the products that go to Gaza to 30 percent of the coastal enclave’s needs. “What Israel has allowed in did not exceed 20 percent,” the sources said.
According to the sources, about 80 truckloads entered Gaza, five of the trucks were for a UN aid agency and two trucks were for the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
In addition, Israel allowed 17 trucks laden with fruits, seven trucks of sugar, five trucks of flour and salt, five trucks of cooking oil, three trucks of frozen meat, three trucks of shoes, one truck of chocolate products, half truckload of dairy products, half truckload of frozen fish, three trucks of diapers and one truck of medicine.
40 other trucks carrying fodder crossed through Karni crossing in eastern Gaza city, the same average that Israel used to allow in before the ceasefire took hold, according to the sources.
The six-month ceasefire is intended to stop Israeli attacks on the Hamas-controlled Gaza and ease the closure that Israel imposed when Hamas took over Gaza by force more than a year ago.
