Casualties of Mosul explosion reach 90 — MNF

Baghdad : Up to 90 civilians were wounded late on Tuesday when a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (IED) went off in northern Iraqi city of Mosul, the Multi-National Force (MNF) said in a statement on Wednesday.

The MNF accused Al-Qaeda organization of orchestrating the attack, that caused such a large number of injuries as well as severe damage to nearby houses and public facilities.

Medics boarding ambulances transferred injuries to nearby hospitals to receive medical care, the statement added.

The casualty toll reported by the MNF contradicted with the figures, declared by the Iraqi security authorities, saying that the blast wounded 70 people and claimed the lives of two others.
