Aligarh: Establishment of a madrasa separately for girls and boys in every district is necessary for removing educational backwardness of the Muslim community, said president of All India Deeni Madaris Board, Maulana Mohammad Yaqoob Bulandshahri.
These madrasas must be of such a high standard that their students may be able to secure admission in modern arts, science and technology subjects, he further said.
He was in Aligarh in connection with the educational awareness campaign launched by the board in Uttar Pradesh. Maulana Yaqoob said education is the only means that can lead Muslims out of the darkness of backwardness and ignorance and place them in the rank of other developed communities.
He said two more madrasas have been established in Saharanpur with separate arrangements for boys and girls. Presently, 400 boys and 500 girls are studying there and further extension is under process in order to increase the number of students to 3,000.
According to him, Madrasas are the only source where from Muslim youths can make up for their lacking in secular and religious education. Responding to a query, Maulana said the board is striving to establish such madrasas in every district but the privileged persons of the community will have to come forward for this campaign. He said Muslims are educationally backward in almost every state. Therefore, prosperous Muslim of the country will have to ponder over the issue and make joint efforts for establishing educational institutions.
He further said that if big institutions of the country like Nadwatul Ulema, Darul Uloom Deoband and Mazahirul Uloom want to do so, they can establish such institutions in every corner of the country as they do not lack in resources. Rather government resources are also available to them.
