Their dead bodies were found Wednesday near Jandola district, security officials told KUNA on Wednesday. They added that two more members of the TPC were still missing.

The incident took place after two days after militants took control of two villages in Jandola district and targeted pro-government members of the TPC, negotiating between the government and the militants to maintain peace in the lawless region.

The militants set on fire several houses and also fired rockets and used heavy guns.

Clashes took place between peace committee members and militants that killed more than a dozen and wounded several others. To take back control of the area, paramilitary and military troopers were preparing for a joint operation.

On Monday, more than 100 troops were dispatched to the areas, under Taliban control, along with tanks and heavy military vehicles.
