Pyongyang : The People’s Democratic Republic of Korea (PDRK) denounced Saturday that the United States wants to invade and colonize it, as Japan did with the Korean peninsula in the 20th century.
Such declarations coincide with festivities marking the anniversary of the Independence Movement against the Japanese occupation in 1919.
An editorial of the “Rodong Sinmun” official daily states that representatives from the Washington “hard line” maintain their hegemonic aggression.
That publication has repeatedly accused United States for its constant violations of North Korean air space and Pyongyang’s pressure in talks on the denuclearization of the peninsula.
According to a report from the official news agency KCNA in February, United States and South Korea have carried out over 170 spy flights against Democratic Korea.
Washington and Seoul also announced the execution of military maneuvers from March 2-7, with large deployment of aircrafts and the Nimitz nuclear aircraft carrier group.
Pyongyang already warned these maneuvers will have a negative effect on the inter-Korean relations.
These war exercises, named the Key Resolve and Foal Eagle code, work against six-band talks taking place in Beijing since 2003 to denuclearize the peninsula.
