Kuwait : The director generals of GCC news agencies will hold their 13th meeting in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Wednesday to discuss means of cooperation on all fields.
KUNA Chairman and Director General Sheikh Mubarak Al-Duaij Al-Sabah stressed in a statement on Sunday on the importance of media cooperation among GCC news agencies.
Sheikh Mubarak who will head KUNA’s delegation to the meetings hoped for further cooperation among these agencies to boost the GCC media track.
He said his participation in the meeting will be an opportunity for the conferees to meet and discuss means to promote joint cooperation among their agencies.
KUNA resources are under the disposal of all workers in the GCC news agencies, he added, praising at the same time the role of the Development and Training Department at KUNA in improving the skills of the journalists at the GCC news agencies.
Sheikh Mubarak said the seventh meeting for the technical committee of the GCC news agencies will be held ahead of Wednesday’s meeting and the recommendations will be submitted to the director generals.
Sheikh Mubarak will start his visit to Saudi Arabia on Tuesday accompanied by board member Dr. Faihan Al-Otaibi, deputy director for the communications and information technology department engineer Najeh Al-Dulaimi, and head of the international relations department Issam Al-Ruwaiyeh.
During his visit, Sheikh Mubarak and his accompanying delegation are expected to attend the opening of the new KUNA office in Riyadh. Kuwait’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Sheikh Hamad Jaber Al-Ali Al-Sabah will also attend the ceremony.
