New Delhi : Jyoti Randhawa continued his march towards the world’s top-50, a target that he needs to achieve in the next two weeks to try and get into the Augusta Masters next month.

“Yes, it has been on my mind, but I am not pressurising myself,” said the Indian, who is now ranked 72nd, his career-best world golf ranking after finishing eighth in the Johnnie Walker Classic on Sunday. Randhawa, who has had a top-10 in his last three starts, has figured in top-10 four times in seven starts this season. Jyoti moved five place up from 77th last week.

Jeev Milkha Singh stayed at 86th while S.S.P. Chowrasia dropped three places to 166th and Gaurav Ghei, who suffered a tragic disqualification, dropped five spots to 233rd. Shiv Kapur was the big gainer as he moved up from 270th to 234th with his fifth place finish in Johnnie Walker Classic at DLF Golf and Country Resort.

“This season I am trying to test my physical limits, by confirming to play nine weeks in a row,” said Randhawa, who generally does not play more than four or five weeks in a row. “I am trying to follow the principle of Jeev (Milkha Singh) who has often talked about testing the body. Thus far, I am feeling okay and have two more weeks in Malaysia and Korea. Then I will take some time off.”

But in these two weeks, both events are joint-sanctioned with European Tour and there will be good points available. A win could help him come close or even make it to top-50.

Jeev Milkha Singh, currently ranked 86th, and Indo-Swede Daniel Chopra, ranked 66th in the world have already made it to the Masters. While Jeev was invited to the Masters, following his great showing at the 2007 edition, Chopra won the Mercedes Benz title and earned a spot.

“If Jyoti also makes it, it would be great to have three Indians,” said Jeev last week. “Daniel grew up with us, so we all consider him as very much Indian and he has a lot of supporters and family in India.”
