Pakistan Caretaker Foreign Minister Inaam-ul-Haq will attend the 11th summit on behalf of Pakistan, GEO TV said.

Musharraf would not attend the OIC summit at Dakar, capital of Senegal, scheduled to be held on March 13-14 owing to existing political situation in the country, GEO TV quoted sources in Islamabad as saying.

The presidency sources said the president not attending the OIC summit is partly due to situation related to the government formation and other important matters.

Pakistan held general elections on Feb. 18 and the Pakistan People’s Party won most votes and will form a coalition government with Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) led by former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

Musharraf was sworn in as a civilian president of Pakistan last November after removing his military uniform.
