New Delhi : People in the north India had another warm day Thursday as the temperatures continued to be 6-8 degrees Celsius above the normal, but the Met Office has forecast some respite from the hot afternoons in the coming days.
The maximum temperature in the national capital was around 34 degrees Celsius, which was nearly six degrees above normal for this time of the year. The maximum temperature was around 30 degrees Celsius for the past week.
People in Delhi and surrounding region have packed away their woollens as the minimum temperature has been steadily rising. Delhi saw the day’s low around 16 degrees Celsius Thursday, two degrees above the normal.
The Met Office said temperatures in most parts of the northern plains are 6-8 degrees Celsius above normal and the trend will continue for the next two or three days till Saturday. The mercury is expected to slide down a little after that.
The weatherman has also forecast rain in parts of Rajasthan and northwest India.
Most parts of the country continue to have dry weather with the exception of northeastern states and parts of West Bengal and Bihar. These could see isolated rain or thundershowers on Friday.
