Talal Atrissi told IRNA prior to the 8th Majlis elections, slated for March 14, that enemies of Iran have for years and in the former elections tried to disappoint Iranian nation.

Atrissi said the enemy plots aimed to undermine public base of the Islamic Revolution and the Islamic Republic system.

He said the enemy still continues hatching plots so as to pretend that Iranian officials do not have popular support.

The analyst said that however, Iranian nation have been present in the elections strongly any time the enemies raised negative publicity and showed the domestic and foreign enemies that are still loyal to the aspirations of the Islamic Revolution and system.

Atrissi said the whole world has been witnessing that the US pressures on the Iranian nation to discourage their participation in the elections have had adverse effect because any time the US statesmen threatened Iran, the nation supported their leaders more than ever.

Of course, Iranian people might have been criticizing their government and officials but that’s a fully domestic issue and the people will unlikely compromise red lines and national interests, he commented.

The university lecturer said that in Iran people and officials are highly sensitive towards any foreign threat and intervention, which shows political maturity, national commitment and the feeling of responsibility of the nation which is highly interested in the government.
