The American Secretary of Homeland Security Michael Chertoff and US Attorney General Michael B. Mukasey are expected to arrive Tuesday in Berlin where they will be joined by their German counterparts Interior Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble and Justice Minister Brigitte Zypries to sign the anti-terror agreement.

According to Der Tagesspiegel, the latest German-US counter- terror deal is supposed to be unveiled on Tuesday.

The main elements of the new accord focus on the exchange of data and intelligence on potential terrorists, swapping DNA data and fingerprints for purposes of criminal prosecution in case of terrorism, arson, severe crimes like murder and sexual offense.

The accord has to be approved by the lower house of the German Parliament, the Bundestag.

Germany hopes that other European Union countries will join this anti-terror agreement.
