Ramallah : Israeli soldiers stormed into the West Bank in a major operation that ended at dawn on Monday, arresting 30 Palestinians.
The incursion mainly targeted the refugee camps of Al Ein and Balata, in Naplusa, where the Israeli forces detained 29 alleged members of the Palestinian resistance, said eyewitnesses and local sources.
The Israeli military command confirmed the information.
Meanwhile in a contradictory version, some sources announced the lifting of the Israeli blockade on the West Bank, while others confirmed that it remains.
This severe measure was adopted by Tel Aviv after the Thursday attack against an Israeli religious school in Kyriat Mosher neigborhood, in Jerusalem, where at least eight persons were killed and another 35 were wounded.
Also Thursday, the Palestine Liberation Organization called the decision of Israel to build 700 houses in the West Bank region of Givat Zeet a provocation.
A report from the Palestinian head negotiator, Saeb Erekat, says that the measure reinforces the intention of the Israeli authorities to strengthen even more their illegal occupation and colonization of Palestinian territory.
