MP Govt. to hold Investors meet at Sagar on April 8

Bhopal: An investors meet would be organized on April 8 at Sagar in Madhya Pradesh. This would lead to establishment of industries augmenting employment opportunities in Bundelkhand region.

This was informed to the people of Sagar district by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan while addressing a massive public gathering on the occasion of Rahas fair at Garhakota in Sagar district on Friday.

The Chief Minister said that the state government has paid special attention to farmers and the youths. Effective steps have been taken to turn agriculture into a lucrative proposition. Suitable decisions have been taken towards reducing the production cost, value addition of crops and providing electricity to farm sector at subsidized rates. He said that now farmers no longer require to do rounds of the Patwaris to get copies of their khasras as latter would provide the same at their doorsteps.

Chouhan said that distribution of subsidized food grain to the poor would start next month. He stressed the need for activation of Deen Dayal Antyodaya Samitis for monitoring of this scheme. He said that all possible efforts would be made for the well being of bidi workers. The cabinet has accorded sanction for a sugar factory to be set up in Rehali area, he informed. The Chief Minister said that relief amounting to Rs. 52 crore has been distributed to people affected by drought and soybean crop failure in Sagar district.

Addressing the public meeting Bharatiya Janata Party national president Rajnath Singh, who was chief guest at the function, said that the farmers cannot prosper unless their purchasing power increases. He stressed the need for setting up of a Kisan Ayog in the country and providing farm loans at lower interest rate besides fixing a certain income from agriculture. He said that agricultural income insurance scheme would enhance the purchasing power of farmers. He said that a special session of the Parliament should be convened to finalize a scheme for betterment of farmers. He said that bank accounts of farmers should be opened and the money should be deposited in these accounts to free the farmers from the clutches of money-lenders. He also referred to suicides by farmers in Vidarbha region of Maharashtra.

Rajnath praised the Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan for taking effective decisions after holding a “Kisan Mahapanchayat”.

Gopal Bhargava welcomed the guests and threw light on the works carried out in Bundelkhad region for improvement of roads, power supply, health and medical facilities and augmenting irrigation facilities.
