Rajkot : Pooja Chauhan, a 22-year-old woman who hit headlines in July 2007 by walking through the streets of Rajkot in Gujarat in her underwear to protest against alleged torture by her husband and in-laws’, now wants police to protect her from neighbours who, she claims, want to kill her.
Pooja Friday night met Rajkot Police Commissioner Sudhirkumar Sinha to ask for police protection. She alleged that four of her neighbours were threatening to kill her and although she had asked for police help earlier as well, no action had been taken against the accused.
Sinha told IANS that she also threatened to go on a similar parade like she had earlier.
He said the four accused had been arrested and Deputy Superintendent of Police D.B. Rawat of Rajkot rural police was carrying out the investigation. However, the accused had also filed complaints of intimidation against Pooja.
